Why do we always get caught by looks, size, color, shape? Why do we care? Why people are not accepting how we're? Why to judge somebody by their looks or shape or size? Why we forgot that at the end we're human and made up of skin mask. Body shaming is something that we judge people on their physical appearance. To humiliate someone by critical comments. And sometimes it can ruin someone's life.
Now it is 2019 and India is developing in everything, but sadly Indian mentality is not changing. People want to comment or abuse everybody by their physic. All kinds of shaming - Slut shaming, body shaming, mother shaming, victim shaming. There are so many women and girls who are ashamed of numerous other things. Body shaming is an universal problem, both men and women are facing this problem.
There are many advertisements on T.V constantly offers us to lose weight or gain weight or change skin tone in “few days” without actually knowing anything about us. This is also an one type of body shaming and it is everywhere. Because of this type of problems one start criticizing themselves for example “Did you just saw her, she look more beautiful then me, look how fat I’m”. Or sometimes without any acknowledge they use sarcasms to criticize another person’s appearance for example “Did you just saw what she was wearing at least you don’t look like her” . No matter what, this often leads us to shaming, comparing and perpetuates the idea that people should be judged mainly by their physical appearance.
Body shaming is mostly prevalent on social media platforms, including YouTube, Instagram, Facebook. It mostly occurred on Facebook and Instagram where user exchanges some controversial comment on victim and mostly user target celebrities or famous personalities. It has been reported that most common target on internet is women. For example, Priyanka Chopra was shamed for wearing short dress to meet PM Modi and Mahira Khan was shamed for smoking in public. Why we don’t understand that people have their own personal choice and freedom. If we are intelligent enough than we have to stop all kinds of shaming and risk.
Some people believe that making a person feel ashamed of their bodies is another way of motivating them to transform themselves and that they will work even harder to change them, but they don’t know this will lead in low self-esteem and insecurity. Everybody needs to understand “nobody can choose their body, especially an unfit body”.
Thank You
Good one ❤️
